Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy
Flexible Booking Protection: your booking keeps its value if your plans change.
Last updated: October 2026
How bookings for the London Business Awards can be passed to someone else, moved to another event or kept as credit, and your refund rights.
01About this policy
This policy applies to tickets, tables and other bookings for the London Business Awards and for other awards, conferences, exhibitions and business events we organise.
02Our commitment to every participant
At the London Business Awards, we appreciate the commitment, time and investment every participant makes when booking. Our priority is to honour every confirmed booking and deliver the experience, recognition and opportunities promised when you booked.
We understand that personal circumstances, business commitments and the unexpected can change plans. Rather than let you lose the value of your booking, we offer flexible alternatives designed to keep it.
03Cancellations and refunds
If your plans change after you book, you will not lose the value of your booking. Where the event goes ahead as advertised and you are unable to attend or change your mind, payments are generally not refunded; instead, you can pass your booking on, move it to another event or keep it as credit, as set out below.
We will always treat cancellations fairly and in line with the law.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts your statutory rights, including any right to a refund where an event is cancelled, materially rescheduled or materially changed, or where the services you booked are not provided.
04Moving to another date, venue or event
If you cannot attend the event you booked, you can ask to move your booking to another available event we organise. Subject to availability and agreement, this may be:
- The same awards ceremony on a different date or at a different venue
- Another regional or national awards ceremony
- A future business networking event, conference or exhibition
- Another eligible event offering comparable benefits and value
05Moving your booking: the price
Where you accept an alternative, we will make reasonable efforts to keep the benefits of your original booking. If the alternative costs more, you can pay the difference. If it costs less, the unused balance can be kept as event credit.
06Changing the attendee or sending someone else
You can pass your ticket to another person, such as a colleague, business associate, family member or someone you nominate to attend in your place.
Please ask for a name change at least 48 hours before the event, so that we can update the guest list. A standard name change is normally free of charge.
Your ticket can be passed on. Award nominations, finalist recognition, trophies and other entitlements based on eligibility stay with the person or business they belong to, under the rules of the awards.
07Event credit voucher of equal value
If you cannot attend and do not want to move your booking straight away, you can ask for an event credit voucher. Where approved, the voucher:
- Reflects the value of the eligible unused booking
- Is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued
- Can be used towards eligible future awards, conferences, exhibitions, networking events and other participating services
- Can be put towards a booking of higher value, with you paying the difference
- Keeps any unused balance available until the original expiry date
08Using your credit voucher
A voucher can be passed to another person or business with our written approval.
Credit vouchers are for use at our events rather than exchanged for cash, unless you are entitled to a refund by law. Where you are, a voucher is offered only as an option, never in place of the refund.
09If an event is postponed, moved or changed
Occasionally we may need to change the date, venue or programme of an event, for operational reasons or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as reasonably practicable and offer suitable alternatives, which may include:
- Attending the event on its new date
- Moving to another event we agree with you
- A replacement booking of comparable value
- An event credit voucher of equal value
10If an event is cancelled
If an event is cancelled, materially rescheduled or materially changed, you keep any right to a refund available under UK consumer law. You will never be required to accept another event or a voucher in place of a refund you are entitled to.
11Keeping the benefits you booked
When a booking is moved, we will make reasonable efforts to keep the benefits you originally booked. Depending on the booking, these may include admission, hospitality, networking, VIP benefits, exhibition space or other services named in your booking. Any substitute benefits will be explained to you clearly and only apply once you accept them.
Each competition is judged on its own, so nominations, judging outcomes, finalist status and winner recognition stay with the awards they belong to, unless the rules of the awards say otherwise.
12How to ask for a transfer or credit
Please contact us using the details in your booking confirmation, giving your booking reference, the event you booked, the attendee name and the alternative you would like. Where possible, please ask before the date of the event.
We will look at every request fairly and confirm the options available to you in writing.
13Fairness and your statutory rights
This policy is intended to give you flexibility, protect the value of confirmed bookings and treat every participant fairly. It does not override UK consumer protection law or any other legal rights you have. Where you are entitled by law to a refund or another remedy, that entitlement takes precedence over anything in this policy.
14Severability and continuing enforceability
If any clause, provision, statement, term or part of this Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or another authorised regulatory or judicial authority to be invalid, unlawful, unenforceable or contrary to applicable law, that finding applies only to the clause, provision or part affected.
The remaining clauses, provisions and terms of this Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy remain valid, binding and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and continue in full force and effect.
Where the law allows, any invalid or unenforceable provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful and enforceable, while keeping, as far as reasonably possible, its original purpose and commercial intent.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any individual provision does not automatically invalidate or affect the enforceability of this Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy as a whole, provided the remaining provisions can continue to operate lawfully and independently.
Nothing in this clause excludes, restricts or overrides any statutory rights, consumer protections or other mandatory legal requirements under the laws of England and Wales.
15Our promise
Your participation matters to us. If your circumstances change, we will work with you to find fair and practical alternatives so that, wherever possible, you still enjoy the recognition, experience and opportunities you booked.
